WHAT IS YOUR SOUNDTRACK PLAYING?
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV).
Did you realize that your brain stores everything? This may be good and bad news for you! It does not distinguish between imaginary and real. It takes in both truth and lies and stores them as it does not distinguish. You have heard of garbage in and garbage out?
Our brains have stored good information but they have also taken in a lot of garbage. Unfortunately, some times that garbage gets involved in the decision making process.
Remember as a child, adults telling you things and you never questioned them because they were adults. Some adults said hurtful things or lies such as you were no good and would never amount to anything. Because they were adults, you believed them.
The soundtrack that plays in your mind needs to be changed. If the soundtrack is based upon lies, you have to take that out of the player and destroy it. The soundtrack we need to be playing is the Word of God. ROMANS 12: 2 says “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” How do we change the way we think. We play the soundtrack of truth of the Word of God over and over and over again. You hear something repetitively enough, it becomes permanent.
ASK GOD TO HEAL YOUR MEMORIES. Tell God, “I need you to heal these memories of rejection, sin, resentment, guilt, and abuse. They hurt. Please heal me.”
FILL YOUR MIND WITH GOD’S WORD. The more truth put in your mind, the more lies that get pushed out. God’s Word needs to replace all that is going into your minds.
God says we are LOVABLE, CAPABLE, VALUABLE, FORGIVABLE AND USABLE. God says every one of you are so I am going to agree with God and say it too!
