TRUSTWORTHY AND STEADFAST
“Reliable friends who do what they say are like cool drinks in sweltering heat—refreshing!” (Proverbs 25:13 The Message).
These two words today I have been searching for to put a finger on the traits and qualities in others that I really admire. I know a lot of men and women who possess these traits and I long to emulate them. They are men and women of few words but their actions guide their path and they are reliable and you know, that no matter what, they will be the true and same throughout. My mom and dad exhibited these among other positive traits.
I believe another key to happiness is becoming one of these folks; someone people can trust. I really do aspire to be that man. I want to be a God’s man, Christ’s man, the Spirit’s man. I have shared that we all need to be a Paul to someone and a Timothy to someone. Paul talks about the reliability of Timothy in Philippians 2: 22 NCV when he says…”You know the kind of person Timothy is. You know he has served me in telling the Good News, as a son serves his father.”
Paul had seen Timothy in action, in all kinds of circumstances and he considered Timothy genuine, trustworthy, and reliable. Do people know what kind of person we are? Have we been proven trustworthy like Timothy?
When someone wants a bank loan or mortgage loan, one of the most important things that have to be done is the credit check. This tells the bank if you are worthy of being trusted with credit. Do you pay your bills on time? Do you have a track record of keeping your word? Will you pay this money back? Are you dependable and creditable and reliable? It is your credit resume.
In one way or another, everyone around you is doing credit check on you.
Those around you who want to know if you are who you say you are.
Am I the real deal?
Do I show my true colors?
Can I be trusted?
To be happy in life we determined we needed relationships. In our relationships in life, and thus, to be happy, we have to be trustworthy and reliable people.
How do we develop a reputation of reliability?
1 Live with Integrity: We are not perfect. But what you see is what you get. Be the
Real deal. Match actions to your words. Do the right thing when
No one is looking.
2 Keep your promises:

Psalm 15: 4 says “They always do what the promise, no matter
How much it may cost” GNT
LIVE WITH INTEGRITY, KEEP YOUR PROMISES, NO MATTER THE COST, AND OTHERS WILL KNOW YOU CAN BE TRUSTED AND WILL ALSO MAKE YOU A HAPPY PERSON.
“Integrity always does the right thing and is free from guilt. Integrity is courage over comfort, what is right over what is fun; Integrity has no cause and effect…..it just is!”
