PURE HOPE

“And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3

Have you ever witnessed pure hope? I am referring to the hope that we have in God. Take the lady in this story. As she lay in a hospital bed, she told her pastor that “she was very excited about what was happening; “the Lord is at work.” She knew the Lord was with her and she trusted Him.

Now, the doctors had run every test known, trying to figure out her problem. Her symptoms were being unable to walk or talk and losing her vision temporarily. These are all very worrisome things. The pastor thought, “you are facing this, lying in a hospital bed, and you are excited??” She was!! Why?? Going thru difficult times like that, God is right there with you in a special way.

Maybe it Is because we are more focused and aware of how He is with us at these times. We do hang on to Him during these times more tightly. “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” 2 COR. 12: 9 NLT

Sometimes we go thru an entire day without one single thought on heaven. Sometimes it is an entire week. But I have heard this saying that “once you are on your back, you can only look up.”

We all need a heavenly perspective. And with that perspective, we need to be reminded that Jesus Christ is coming back and coming back soon. The question is ARE YOU READY? The verse today says those who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure just as He is pure.

Do you believe Jesus Christ could come back at any time??....if so, I hope that affects the way you and I live.
