MORE ON WORSHIP
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” 1 TIMOTHY 1: 17
Worship has been on my mind and in a lot of my studies, devotions, and conversations lately. I want to be fully cognizant of what true worship is as God sees it and nobody else.
I grew up in church where worship was reverent. God was holy. God was righteous and to be feared. You approached His sanctuary with reverence and with a certain respectful attitude.
As I got older, I went to churches that emphasized and talked more about the love of God, the mercy of God, and the forgiveness of God.
The question bandied about is which one is better. Yet, another debate for believers to argue over. I do not see the need to choose between one or the other. I see the need for both. We do have a loving, gracious, and merciful Father God. We have a God who longs for a loving relationship with us and has offered up His forgiveness. He is a personal God. However, we must not lose sight either of the fact the He is a holy , righteous, and a just God. The Lord himself said in 1 Peter 1: 16 NKJV “16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
Worship comes in many forms, shapes, and sizes. No matter which one we choose, worship begins in our heart, our obedient heart. We must first realize the importance of worshipping our Father God. We worship God in our daily, minute by minute actions. Worship is continual and perpetual when done the way God intended.
Worship is singing, but more
Worship is praying, but more
Worship is reading the written word of God, but more
Worship is realizing we are in a lost world, and we are to try to save as many in it as possible, and yet worship is more.
All the above are components of worship. Worship begins in the heart, and is an emotion outwardly expressed as giving of one’s self; totally, to God and those He loves…..everyone.
Worship is all of those components. Worship is serving. Worship is walking in the constant fact that every step we take is to be committed to the giving of our life to the Lord every day, every step.
WORSHIP IS GIVING YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD EVERY DAY
“The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless.” Billy Graham
