GOD WORKS ALL FOR GOOD
Updated: May 19, 2020
We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28 NLT).
Life often includes difficult moments such as sickness, job loss, or the death of a friend or family member. Those are all bitter pills to swallow and sometimes we choke on them. I am learning that even in each one of these circumstances, even though we cannot see it, God is up to something good in our life. I heard recently that God does not waste our pain. We have to know for us to hold on during these tough times, we need to grab ahold of this truth that He works ALL things for good.
The verse today says that GOD CAUSES EVERYTHING to work together for good of who????,
THOSE THAT LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED TO HIS PURPOSE FOR THEM
It does not say every event will be good, in fact, everything includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, when we put our WHOLE life together, every piece of it works together for good.
Like baking a cake, each ingredient independently probably is not going to be very tasty. But when they are all put together, it comes out tasting good and yummo who does not like some cake. God wants to bake an amazing cake in the form of our life. He will use all of the elements to do so, even the distasteful and bitter ones.
God also says not everything works together like we want or that each story or decision will have a happy ending. Not every business decision is successful and not every couple that gets married lives happily ever after and not every child becomes valedictorian.
We are reminded by this verse that we should have absolute confidence in the Master Designer of the universe. He causes it all to work together for the good but here is the caveat ………….
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD.
Hope is not optimism. It is not the belief that bad will turn out well.
Hope IS the absolute confidence that every part of your life ULTIMATELY MAKES SENSE, regardless of how it turns out this side of eternity.
From our vantage point, life often looks like a mess. Thank God, His view from heaven is not the same as ours and is much better.
WE CANNOT IMAGINE THE GOOD THAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR OUR FUTURE.
TRUST HIM WITH PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES AND YOUR FUTURE. …..BECAUSE HE IS ALWAYS WORKING FOR OUR GOOD.
“Making peace instead of fighting takes courage and strength, and is certainly the less painful—and wiser—option.”
