GOD ALWAYS FINISHES STRONG
I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 ESV).
My mom and dad always said the following and diligently enforced it. “If you start something, you are going to finish it.” We were not allowed to quit.
The God of Always…..well….He always finished what He starts. This includes building our character. God wants our character to be like His son, Jesus. We were created to be like Christ. That is why we are called Christians or to be “Christ-like.”
The really neat thing is that God will for sure complete what He does not get finished in this life. He will finish our character and bring us to perfection in heaven. The verse today hears this out. What a day that we will see Jesus face to face. I cannot imagine the high of that moment. I don’t know that I can grasp that. And like Him, I will be transformed. You will be transformed. We will be like Him.
Say goodbye to your weaknesses. That noticeable limp I have will be gone. Failures and frailties will not exist. Insecurities do not exist. That day we will be transformed to perfection and will TOTALLY reflect the glory of God.
Right now we are not quite what we ought to be. We are only a minute fraction of what we will be.
God says…that is ok. In my time….God’s time…He will perfect us. Remember God cheers us at every point. So take steps with purpose. One day He will finish what He began in us. We will be changed in a moment to His likeness. Oh what a day that will be.
The Bible describes that day like this: “Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is” (1 John 3:2 NLT).
WE ALL HAVE STUMBLED IN THE RACE OF LIFE.
WE ALL STRUGGLE.
THE RACE IS NOT OVER THOUGH
ONE DAY – JESUS…… FACE TO FACE -- WE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!
“No matter what comes your way, God is not surprised.Your challenge was not sent to defeat you; it was sent to increase you.”
