CONTAGION WORTH SPREADING
Hamburger and fries. A day off and good weather. Homemade ice cream and more helpings of homemade ice cream. All things in their own right good but when paired with the other makes it even better. That is how it is with giving thanks and praise. Both are great within themselves but paired together are powerful.
We express thanks to someone for what they have done. We express praise as a term of admiration and delight. Worship usually follows praise. Praising God gives us joy and satisfaction. Combine that with thanks then we glorify God and help others see His glory in worship.
The blind beggar, when he was healed and given his sight for the very first time, he obviously was thankful but it also says in Luke 18: 43…that he followed Jesus and praised God….” 43Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
Others saw this, witnessed this, and they too began to praise God.
THE BEGGARS EXUBERANT THANKS AND PRAISE! were contagious.
One man’s encounter with Jesus led to a worshipful moment.
This is true today: THANKS and PRAISE goes best together!!!
When they do. they are contagious and that is a contagion worth spreading.
During trying times, we seem to shelve our thanks and praise.
Knowing God is the working behind the scenes for Him to be glorified and exalted, reminds me to be thankful and to praise Him,
We also not only thank God for each item but praise Him as well.
When we praise God, others are watching and will take note.
