BE LIKE HIM
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT).
Finding happiness and success is really pretty simple when you think about this important bit of information. God wants us to be like Jesus so we should strive to be more like Him. Jesus came and lived the perfect life to be the perfect sacrifice, yes,…but also to give us the template to follow in our walk.
Do you think God says these are sources of happiness and success?:
You may think they are but they all have very short shelf lives and are temporary.
PERMANENT, SUSTAINABLE HAPPINESS COMES WHEN WE GIVE OURSELVES AWAY IN SERVICE. GOD WIRES US THAT WAY BECAUSE…GOD..DOES. WANT US…TO BE….LIKE JESUS!
The secret to joy is service to others.
First, service to others gets our mind off ourselves.
The more we focus on self the more miserable we become
JOY comes from shifting from “it’s all about me” to “it’s all about God and serving
GOD-CENTRIC and not bob-centric!
This is just more evidence that we do not belong to this world as this world says just the opposite. This world screams it is all ME baby. God in His Word says “I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy” (Philippians 2:17 NLT).
HELPFUL PEOPLE ARE THE HAPPIEST—To this I can attest. I get a high and feel so awesomely blessed when I feel I have helped someone out because of something I did or said improved their day and their lot in life.
NEXT, … we have been gifted with gifts, use them to serve and help others. “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT).
Remember, God blesses us to bless others. When I have blessed others, I am blessed by God. I don’t do it thinking that but it is a nice side effect of doing for others.
IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING WITH A LACK OF JOY IN YOUR LIFE, FIND A WAY TO SERVE PEOPLE. MAKE THAT STEP TO SERVE AND WATCH GOD CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE
“One of the principal rules of religion is, to lose no occasion of serving God. And, since He is invisible to our eyes, we are to serve Him in our neighbor, which He receives as if done to Himself in person, standing visibly before us.” JOHN WESLEY
