BE AN INFLUENCER
So faith comes from hearing that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. ROM. 10: 17
There is a new term in the modern lexicon that has been born out of social media. That is someone who is an influencer. That is “a person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media..”
Think about this, no person in the New Testament came to faith apart from the agency or influence of a human being. There is example upon example in Scripture.
In Acts 8: 26-39 there was the Ethiopian. There are many ways God could have reached this man. He could have sent an angel to meet him. What the Lord did was send an angel to Philip and told him to go. So what did Philip do? FIRST HE LISTENED, THEN WAS WILLING AND HE WENT AND PROCLAIMED THE GOSPEL TO THAT MAN AND HE BELIEVED.
In Acts 16: 27-34 there was the Philippian jailer. Again, God could have reached him in many different ways. He chose to allow Paul and Silas to be locked up, where they ultimately, being obedient,, got to proclaim the gospel to the jailer and bring him and his family to faith.
In Acts 10 there was Cornelius. He was searching for God. An angel spoke to him and told him he needed to meet a man named Simon Peter. He told him where to find him. Here again, God chooses to use Simon Peter to give him the gospel.
And, what about Saul? His conversion was through an encounter with Christ on the Damascus Rd. However, his conversion had two people who influenced him.
Stephen’s witness had softened his heart and made him receptive to the Word when he was confronted by Jesus Christ.
Ananias was sent to follow up on Saul and pray for him to receive the power of the Holy Spirit.
SO IT IS LIKE THIS……GOD USED PEOPLE......YOU’RE A PEOPLE…I’M A PEOPLE. HE WANTS TO USE YOU AND ME. JUST BE WILLING TO DO SO! YOU DO NOT KNOW IT BUT YOU ARE INFLUENCING SOMEBODY!
“God has a job for you, one for which He has given you particular talents, abilities, and passions.”
